Welcome Back Information

Greetings Parents/Guardians:

We are excited to welcome you to CPA for the fall! School will resume on August 21, 2017 at both campuses. Over the summer, we made several changes. The most notable is that both sites have moved. We will no longer occupy classrooms at Raymond or Ambler Elementary schools. We are excited to have our own space in which to grow. However, due to time constraints in moving, we must push our start date back one week which will allow us time to prepare both campuses for your arrival.

The Los Angeles site is located at 7019 S Van Ness Ave., Los Angeles 90047. The Carson Campus is located at 24910 S Avalon Bl., Carson 90744. Both offices will be open beginning August 4th from 8a.m. to 3p.m. and will be open from 7a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning August 14th for enrollment questions. We are in the midst of moving and creating growing spaces for our students, so we ask that current families refrain from visiting until the Community BBQ Days on Thursday, August 17th in LA and Friday, August 18th in Carson, at which time you can come and tour the sites, meet teachers, visit classrooms and pick up uniforms from noon to 3:30 p.m.

The second change is in our daily schedule. School hours have changed to provide more instructional time for our students. The change will also accommodate parents needing early morning care and to allow for an easy flow of morning traffic surrounding both sites. School begins at 7:30 a.m. and students may arrive as early as 7:10 a.m. Elementary and Middle School daily schedules are attached. You will note that students are now dismissed at 12:15 on Wednesdays for Staff Development.

Third, CPA will no longer offer the Breakfast In the Classroom program. You will need to provide a nutritious breakfast for your scholar and you’ll have the option to pack or purchase lunch for your children. Hungry Tots will prepare and deliver a lunch to your child daily if you choose. Their information is attached.

In addition, After School Care will be provided until 6pm daily for the first 50 students to enroll at each campus. The cost for this program is $40 monthly. There are no sibling discounts or prorated fees. Fees must be paid in advance. Homework help, snacks and enrichment are included. There will be onsite enrollment at our Community BBQ days on August 17th and 18th.

Finally, we are elated to introduce to you our new Administrator, Mr. Marcus Wilhite. He is looking forward to meeting every family and working alongside staff and students at both campuses.

We are excited to begin this year and look forward to seeing all of you on August 17th and 18th. There will be plenty of opportunities this year for you to get involved and volunteer. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer vacation!
